What a week!!!

A busy May Bank Holiday Week

After a week away in Scotland, Fred and I have been super busy this week. We did get out to combined training on Thurs 9 May - where it rained stair-rods AGAIN! This time the dressage was much more successful AND the jumping had further improved. We had an unlucky pole, slight loss of focus and momentum around a corner into a double which was spaced to a long one stride, Fred had to chip in and just knocked the pole on the second part of the double to finish on 35.75!

On Friday I went for my first proper hack in 4 years.

Mand and I had a really fab hack heading around Rowborough woods, hopped over a couple of ditches /streams and then appearing at the base of the 'big hill' for a good gallop. It took the boys 3 goes to get to the top and my goodness it was a long old hill. I've never had the opportunity to open Fred up, he's got a fab turn of hoof, with a lot of speed and ever so polite. This boy just keeps surprising.

Saturday was a day off for Fred, whilst I spent it at Millfield BE as a Dressage Writer. It was good to see what other people are up to and feel that it won't be long before Freddal's and I hit the hallowed turf of a BE event.
