29 October - BEACH!
With the weather being pretty torrential all month, I wasn't sure we were going to get such a lovely beach ride, but the day was perfect. The sun was out, the sky was blue (albeit an autumn/wintery blue) and the horses behaved beautifully.
I'm so grateful to Karen and Kate for letting me join them.
We were on the beach at 8.30am, so there were relatively few people on the beach, a couple of ponies just finishing their ride cantering back towards us and a few dog walkers.
We had 4 canters, the last one we were aiming for a gallop but at about gear 3.5 Fred felt like he might put his head between his legs and so we had to top out there not faster, but it was great fun.
Fred hasn't been to the beach since about 2019 and this was Thunder's first visit and they both behaved beautifully. It was a really lovely day out
