DOUBLE Dressage Win at Novice and Qualification for Hartpury Champs - AND A TROPHY!

31 January

Yup, it's a glory post, but since this has NEVER EVER happened before for me in 20 years of competing on ANY of my horses (and may be a while before it happens again, if it happens again!) I'm going to enjoy it....

So, here's Freddie's DOUBLE dressage win at NOVICE!

And we've qualified again for Hartpury South West Unaffiliated Champs in May - hoorah!

68.08% in Novice 30 (3% ahead of second place - I've only ever done that once before and it was Prelim with a polo match going on the other side of the road - gave Dream some oomph and the other competitors a scary day out)

And 67.62% in N34 - which started with two 8s!! However, an unfortunate poo - I mean really Fred? - in the final canter-trot-canter transition cocking up 3 moves (missed the trans at X as we started pooping, so down late, still pooping so up late, forgot I had to down again at C, so late there and then we muddled into the medium) But you have to laugh.

I was starting to think that riding him to a 68.81% BD Novice Score back in July had been a bit of a fluke, and that maybe I should throw in the towel, so this has been a much needed confidence boost.

Team Ginger! Doing if for you mum! Doing it for Freddie

PLUS Surprise win of a trophy!

it was quite a good day for Fred on the 31st, not only did he do a double win but I also picked up the Riding Club Annual Trophy for Show jumping
